David Shelton has been with New Forests since it was formed in 2005 and leads all acquisitions and dispositions for New Forests’ Australia-New Zealand funds. This includes coverage of forestry investments as well as agriculture, infrastructure, carbon projects, and related assets. David’s track record for New Forests includes assets exceeding AUD 5.3 billion in valuation. David manages a Sydney-based team of investment professionals responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, including structuring and executing transactions, financial analysis, business planning, negotiation, due diligence, and tax planning. David also represents the funds on several company boards. He has experience working on investment transactions and research projects for the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in more than 15 countries, primarily in Australasia. David has a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) from Charles Sturt University and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
