Sam Rorabaugh manages acquisitions for New Forests US’ forestry asset management strategy. His responsibilities include leading due diligence, transaction structuring, counterparty negotiation, and transaction closing activities as well as assisting investment strategy and deal origination. Prior to joining the New Forests team, Sam worked as the Director of Transactions for an institutional timberland manager that manages the largest domestic portfolio of FSC-certified natural forest systems in the United States. His experience includes having led complex timberland transactions that included climate and conservation overlays. In addition to leading transactions, Sam has extensive experience in timberland portfolio valuation and analysis. Sam is a forester and holds a Master in Forest Resources with a focus in Forest Business from the University of Georgia, where he was a J.L. Clutter Memorial Scholar, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Forestry Operations from Virginia Tech.
