Sarah Clawson leads New Forests’ investor relations team and oversees the company’s capital raising and client relations. This includes providing strategic direction and coordination for funds marketing and client services functions across New Forests’ investment strategies. Sarah is responsible for driving a best practice approach within New Forests’ investor relations team and ensuring coordination of marketing campaigns, determining strategies to expand New Forests’ client base, and applying a consistent approach to managing client services across the business. Sarah has over 15 years of experience in marketing, client relations, and communications in the sustainable and responsible investment sector worldwide. In her previous roles she managed marketing and membership recruitment for international sustainable investment groups in the EU and Australasia, as well as developed educational responsible investment programs designed for international institutional investors. Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in French and English literature from Colgate University and is a Fulbright scholarship recipient.
Maria Davis-Poynter supports the New Forests investor relations team in delivering the company’s global marketing strategy with institutional investors, with a specific focus on sustainable plantation forestry investment. In her previous roles, Maria worked in corporate governance consulting, advising some of Australia’s largest listed companies on best-practice Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies and disclosures. She also has experience in conducting extensive engagement with institutional investors and other stakeholders on a broad range of ESG issues. Maria has a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales.
Robert Hagler leads investor relations for New Forests’ US strategies and clients. Bob has more 30 years of experience in all aspects of forestry and timberland investments. Prior to joining New Forests, Bob was Principal of ForestEdge, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor and timberland investment consultancy serving family offices and direct timberland investors. Over the past 20 years, he has held a range of senior positions including Head of Timberland Investment Strategy and International Portfolio Manager for both US and international timberland investments. Prior to that, Bob established and led Wood Resources International, an international forestry and forest product consulting practice that conducted research and projects in more than 70 countries around the world. Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in Forest Resource Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Penn State University.
Gina is a part of the Investor Services team in Sydney and supports marketing and business development, client services, coordination, management, and distribution of quarterly reporting, as well as management of annual investor meetings. Gina is an experienced institutional investor services professional with more than seven years of experience working at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in both Korea and Australia. During her time with J.P. Morgan Korea, Gina was the dedicated client service manager for a real estate separate account totalling over USD 1.3 billion and managed the client servicing for 17 fund of fund managers. Gina has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yonsei University in Seoul as well as a Masters of Korean and English Interpretation and Translation from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea.
Radha Kuppalli leads New Forests’ Investor Services business unit. Her oversight includes integration of responsible investment and ESG innovations into investment strategy and product development; client relations and funds marketing; and research and thought leadership to support New Forests as a leading investment manager in the forestry sector. She is a director of the Board of New Forests Pty Ltd, member of the company’s Executive Committee, and a member of various Investment Committees. Radha has been with New Forests since 2006. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Timberlink Australia and Greening Australia. Radha’s 20-year career has been focused on driving capital markets toward investing in climate change solutions and sustainable development. Radha has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Economic Theory from American University in Washington, D.C., and an MBA and master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University’s School of Management and School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She is on the Advisory Board of the Center for Business and Environment at Yale University and is an associate of the Yale World Fellows Program.
Emily Simso contributes to New Forests’ corporate sustainability and responsible investment (RI) initiatives. Based in San Francisco, Emily works with New Forests’ teams globally to implement our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration practices in the investment process. She also supports New Forests’ responsible investment strategy, the administration and continual improvement of the Social and Environmental Management System (SEMS), and New Forests’ Sustainable Landscape Investment (SLI) framework and impact management. Emily’s prior experience includes working as the inaugural responsible investment associate for her university’s endowment, which she led to develop an RI Policy and commence an ESG approach appropriate to their needs. She recently completed internships in ESG with exposure across several asset classes, including a focus on emerging markets investments. Emily also has a background in environmental science and research. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola Marymount University.
Joanna Tan is part of New Forests’ investor services team and is based in Singapore. She is responsible for the fundraising and client services efforts for New Forests’ Southeast Asian funds and investment strategies. She also looks after the entire client relationship management process, including due diligence and ongoing investment monitoring. Joanna’s experience includes working with a variety of asset managers and accumulating significant institutional business development and client servicing experience for a predominantly Asian institutional asset owner client base since 2006. She was also involved in product development initiatives in some of her previous capacities and supports product development at New Forests. Joanna has a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
